On Monday this week (28th September) my Daniel Tour visited Portsmouth Grammar School (PGS), my first visit there for 6 years. It coincided with PGS’s launch of their Readathon challenge which is a fundraising initiative – basically a week of sponsored reading. Great group of Year 8s had loads of questions for me, and certainly responded to me saying – you can ask me anything you like! This has been a feature of my tour and so, along with the many great questions author’s often get asked at events, I received a couple of gems – when the Tour’s over at the end of the year, I’ll share the best of the crop with you all – there are certainly some that are zany, others that you’d never guess in a million years. Terrific fun, and often extremely entertaining. It was great to meet all the students and I’m looking forward to a future visit to chat to Year 7s and Year 9s. My thanks to Bryony Hart for hosting the event and for the terrific introduction, and to Marie from the splendid Hayling Island Bookshop for supporting the event. Pics to follow.
